This makes sense because then you aren’t trying to clean around things quite as much. What I would suggest before you start your cleaning is a QUICK tidy up and getting rid of obvious rubbish. TIP – There is a sort of exception to this rule, however. Doing it this way means you can focus on one thing at a time, and you’ll get through it Oh so much more easily. And who wants that much to do?ĭeclutter as it’s own job, trust me, that’s big enough! – then clean what’s left – and then organise. Most checklists I’ve found so far have tasks that run to pages and pages because of these extra tasks. Sounds logical, right – but most people try and also declutter AND organise as they go round their home. One thing I’d really like to mention before we get started (and that I think is crucial in avoiding overwhelm) is that my Spring Cleaning checklist is purely for, well, cleaning! I suppose that’s why we hear about spring cleaning so much, and winter/summer/autumn cleaning less so…. With all this being said, a good deep clean can be something that’s done at any time of year (I tend to do it each season, which means that it never gets too out of control!), but Spring is definitely the nicest time to get it all done. When I can sit down with a cuppa and enjoy the (albeit brief!) time that everything is immaculate. I think my favourite part though is that feeling when it’s all done. There’s something really therapeutic about cleaning, when you really tackle it head on and get loads done – and that’s where spring cleaning comes in! ![]() but maybe, just maybe, it’s got something to do with the fact that the sunshine shows off all the corners of the house that little more clearly than the winter light did – and there’s a few cobwebs showing that were previously hidden…. When the sun shines I feel the need to turn some music on, open the windows to get some fresh air in, and get the house sparkling. It depends on my mood, and to be honest – how nice the weather is outside! Well – sometimes it can be a joy, and sometimes it’s a real chore…
